What to look out for
Rabbits are great grazers and eating grass is not only good for their digestive system, it also helps to keep their teeth in shape. Knowing how much they love greenery, when you’re out and about this summer you might be tempted to pick some wild plants to bring home for your rabbit to eat.
But while you may think something might make a tasty treat for your pet, even some common garden plants can be toxic to rabbits, including ivy, lilies and hydrangea.
If your rabbit eats something it shouldn’t, it may show symptoms such as seizures, loss of appetite or signs of intestinal inflammation, so it’s better to be on the safe side than have to make an emergency trip to Edgewood Veterinary Group.
