Canine capers for Christmas
November 21, 2019
There’s a reason so many festive films feature dogs – in fact, several reasons. They’re funny, loveable, loyal, sometimes naughty… but whatever scrapes they get into, you can rely on expert care when you register your dog with Edgewood Vets.
If you haven’t already done so, simply contact us to register your pet, then you can hunker down for a Christmas movie binge with peace of mind that your own little star is in the best possible hands.
To help you make the most of Christmas time with your dog, the team at Edgewood Vets has put together a top five of their favourite dog-related films for you to enjoy. So grab the Scooby snacks, share the sofa and check out some of these classics.
- Lady and the Tramp – the Disney delight that never fails to deliver. Posh spaniel Lady meets stray mutt Tramp and, well, you probably know the rest. It’s set at Christmas time so perfect heartwarming fare – with the best spaghetti moment ever.
- Bolt – You’ll believe a dog has super-powers. This witty and action-packed animation sees canine TV star Bolt set out on an adventure with his sidekicks – a hamster and a cat – to save his co-star from the villains.
- Hachi: A Dog’s Tale – You might need the tissue box for this one (but keep it out of reach of your viewing companion – we’ve all had a shredded tissue disaster!), which sees Richard Gere adopt a stray Akita. We’re welling up already.
- Beethoven – One of two hilarious slobber-fests we love, featuring an adorable St Bernard puppy and his family’s efforts to control his antics as he grows, and grows, and… you get the picture.
- Turner & Hooch – Slobber-fest number two. Tom Hanks is the detective who adopts the dog of a dead man to help him find the murderer – but he’s not really prepared for the drool capacity of a dogue de Bordeaux.
And there’s our selection. Some of them are bound to be in the schedules over the festive season, so we hope you enjoy.
And don’t forget, if you’ve got a budding Bolt or a hatchling Hooch, Edgewood Vet’s always here to help them out if they go a bit overboard. Just register with us for a stress-free Christmas.
