Acupuncture for pets in Purleigh
Acupuncture is the treatment of conditions or symptoms by the insertion of very fine disposable needles into specific points on the body in order to produce a response.
Pascale Collins is our trained veterinary acupuncturist. Your pet’s acupuncture consultations will usually last approximately 30 minutes. This involves the vet taking a history of the patient’s problem, an examination and then the acupuncture treatment. Most pets require four or five consecutive weekly visits and thereafter as determined by the veterinary surgeon.
Many people are concerned that their pet may experience some pain during the insertion of the needles. In the majority of cases they may feel a mild tingling sensation and require some reassurance from their owners. Part of this anxiety is probably due to being in the veterinary surgery which has different smells and sounds compared to being at home.
Acupuncture can help numerous conditions, including reproductive, musculoskeletal, neurological, pulmonary, gastrointestinal and in some cases skin disease.
Pascale would be happy to examine your pet and discuss whether she feels acupuncture may be beneficial for your pet.
